Unfortunately, this month we have faced with a maternity death, according to our SMG she recognized that there is a pregnant woman in labor she was 36 years old it was her six babies,
After 5 o’clock at night the antenna is switched of by Taliban and after 8 o’clock nobody is allowed to get out from their house, the woman gave birth a baby girl after that she find severe bleeding the SMGs insisted a lot to her husband for transferring the woman to health center or calling the ambulance but the husband did not accept and said till morning, I will not do anything we have to wait.
The reason is mostly unclear for us, according to some group leaders while there is no antenna and not allowed for the villagers to get out from their home at night it is the reason that her husband did not transfer his wife or most of the men never giving value to their wife mostly they are happy that their wife die instead they can get a new wife by selling their land also a video which the SMGs were explaining how she tried and insist till morning for the patient’s husband to transferring but not accepted and said it is my wife my life go back to your house and she did all the experience she had like pushing the abdomen Aorta but did not work she could not stop the bleeding she got tired and came back to her home at 4 o’clock after that she heard that woman died.
Nobody was aware of this death in the health center, also it is difficult for our team to share about the women’s rights to MSGs and changing their mind before knowing and trusting to us.
So, we need time to gradually work with the villagers.
The SMGs are welcoming the school project which is going to start and they hope such project will gradually change Kaldar also they were very pleased with the ambulance which make lots of facilities most of them said without spending any money we bring our families for giving birth and receive the intensive but they are also exception for some families that they are not valuing their life.
After all we distributed clean birth kit to pregnant woman in the 9 months and planned for the ANC visit.
